The Revolutionary War: Its Impact Upon The Lives Of War Veterans

Number of pages: 5

ABSTRACT:
5 pages in length. After the War of 1812, Congress passed a law allowing all those who suffered disabilities as a result of military service during the Revolutionary War to apply for a pension. As well, widows who had lost their husbands as a result of the war could also apply for assistance. Indeed, this was quite a boon for the returning veterans and the widows they left back at home. It can be argued that the pension money was a small pittance in some cases when life and limb had been its exchange; however, the sometimes paltry amount was just enough to further the families' existence. The writer discusses pension influence with regard to three Revolutionary War veterans. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
